Our Guest Conductor, Tim Shantz

À la française focused on music by French composers and music in the language of France.

For the highlight of the concert, Maurice Duruflé's Requiem, Elizabeth Turnbull (mezzo-soprano) and former Cantata Singers member Luc Lalonde (baritone) joined the choir and the Virtuosi Orchestra as guest soloists. When the choir performed Gabriel Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine, Caroline Léonardelli and former Cantata Singers member Wesley Warren joined us in a beautiful harp and organ arrangement.

Rounding out the choral part of the program was Chansons des Roses, a suite of five primarily a cappella pieces by Morten Lauridsen.
