BENEFIT

The Cantata Singers of Ottawa, the Central Children's Choir of Ottawa, Canadian soprano Irena Welhasch-Baerg, pianist Stéphane Lemelin, dancer Chipo Shambare and NACO flutist Joanna G'froerer are among the performers tonight at Christ Church Cathedral in a fundraiser for Water-Can, an Ottawa-based organization that provides clean water to communities in developing countries. The program mixes classical pieces, folk music, arias and African songs, most of it with a water-related theme. Proceeds will also go to the Cantata Singers, the choir led by Laurence Ewashko. The performance is at 7:30 p.m. at the cathedral, Sparks Street near Bronson Avenue. Tickets range from $35 to $50 for adults and $25 to $40 for seniors and students. They will be available at the door.
