This year has been a challenging time for live music around the globe, but the Cantata Singers are still making music together as best we can.
We’ve been meeting online since the beginning of the pandemic and keeping a careful eye on the latest guidance from Public Health. For the last few weeks, we’ve been rehearsing some holiday favourites in small groups and in virtual rehearsals. Although of course we’re nowhere near resuming regular operations, you might see some of us around the city this December, masked and bundled up and festive, as we put on short and sweet outdoor pop-up concerts! We’d love to tell you where and when, but we’ll have to let it be a winter surprise.
We’re committed to keeping choral music vibrant in Ottawa even in these times, and to bringing our old favourites back as soon as it’s safe to gather again. We hope that we’ll see you in person soon, and we’ll keep you posted on our plans—so stay tuned!
